Fine art photographer Bob Killen has a posted a short review of my Lightroom 3 VQS. He calls the book "The shortest distance between 'I know nothing' and 'Wow, would you look at that.'" That's exactly what I try to do with the book, so that sounds like success.
Aside from tooting my own horn, however, this post provides a nice way to highlight Killen's work. The first Artist in Residence for Mojave National Preserve, Killen has long championed this huge-but-frail piece of desert between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. His photos hang in more than 20 countries; there's one in my living room. His landscapes of the stark backcountry deftly fuse a brisk, big-picture view with gem-like details. Entirely modern, irony free and a welcome tonic for jaundiced eyes.
