A reader recently commented that the book does not specifically mention how to import photos into Lightroom from iPhoto. The process is basically the same as importing any other photos already stored on your computer or connected hard drives. For the details, see step 2 of "Importing Images" on page 19.
But here's a bit more on how to find exactly where your iPhoto images are stored on your computer:
- Launch iPhoto, click the Photos icon in the Library to see all of your photos.
- Right-click the photo(s) you want to import and choose Show File from the drop-down menu. (That's a Control-click for single-button Macs.)
- The folder containing the photo(s) opens and you can see the file path for that photo. If you want to import all the photos in that folder, just navigate up a level and note the file path for that folder.
- Now switch over to Lightroom and in step 2 on page 19, simply navigate to that same folder. Follow the rest of the steps to complete the import of your iPhoto images.
